Nicholas Pelton began teaching instrumental music at the Bellows Falls Union High School in the fall of 2011 and serves as the music director of the Springfield Community Band. His prior teaching appointments have been at the Saegert School in Seguin, TX and the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia. Mr. Pelton earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Florida State University and a Master of Music degree from SUNY Fredonia. In addition to teaching, Mr. Pelton is active as a performer, conductor, ensemble manager, and adjudicator. Mr. Pelton served as District 6 President of the Vermont Music Educators Association and is a member The New England Music Festival Association and the National Association for Music Education. Recent performance engagements include the Keene Jazz Orchestra, the Vermont Jazz Center Big Band, the East Bay Jazz Ensemble, the Windham Orchestra, the Springfield Community Players, and the Dublin School.
