TUESDAY, July 11, 2023, IS A BIG DAY FOR THE ARTS IN SPRINGFIELD!!
The Springfield Community Band announces that that evening’s Children’s Concert will be the venue for the first-ever collaboration between the band and dancers from The Dance Factory in Springfield. The two groups will perform together to present Prokofiev’s well-loved story of Peter and the Wolf.
Nick Pelton will conduct the concert, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. at The Common (a park in Springfield located opposite the cemetery on Cherry Hill (formerly Summer Hill St.) Ashley Hensel-Browning created the choreography for the dancers.
The band urges everyone (kids and adults) to come dressed in their PAJAMAS and be ready for fun!!! The kids will gather to dance the Hokey Pokey, and those children who wish to do so will have the chance to conduct the band.
As always, there will be FREE ICE CREAM for all.
THIS CONCERT IS ALWAYS FUN! DON’T FORGET YOUR CHAIR!
